About The Position
This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the heavy civil construction industry. Interns will be part of the region's largest heavy civil construction and materials company, Allan Myers. The program provides on-the-job training, exposure to large-scale projects, and classroom sessions to develop professional skills. Each assignment typically lasts 3-6 months. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency (GED) required.
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Mining & Materials Engineering, Business Management, or another engineering-related degree.
- Must be a team player and possess a collaborative attitude.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to change.
Responsibilities
- Support a crew, project, or plant team in the planning, scheduling, and execution of a heavy civil construction project.
- Coordinate subcontractors.
- Assist with project schedule management.
- Gain exposure to project plans.
- Prepare work plans.
- Support contract management.
- Assist with daily reporting.
- Help with ordering materials.
- Contribute to change order processes.
