About The Position

As a Field Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech IV - Field Service) at United Rentals, you will perform maintenance and repairs on complex equipment with limited or no supervision, using a highly skilled, safe, and professional approach. The role involves providing exceptional customer service and traveling to customer job sites to service rental or customer-owned equipment. The position offers potential to work toward leadership roles in the Service Department.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
At least 5 years of experience repairing or maintaining equipment and tools.
Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
Extensive knowledge of construction equipment and an advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams.
Must own tools applicable to the position.
Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to frequently lift items weighing up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

Maintain and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment and tools, using independent judgment.
Travel to customer job sites to repair and maintain rental or customer-owned equipment.
Maintain the service vehicle in a clean and professional manner.
Assist in training lower-level technicians as needed.
Complete and maintain timely daily paperwork or electronic documentation of work performed, including work orders.
Assist with equipment and parts pickup and delivery.
Perform other duties as assigned.
