About The Position

Assist with the implementation and execution of a risk-based audit process. Perform tasks such as consulting with management regarding risk and controls, coordinating audits and projects, preparing reports and briefings, and ensuring high standards are maintained for work papers and other documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration preferred
  • 5-10 years of asset-based collateral audit, specific to banking required
  • Experience testing for specialty finance, consumer credit, credit reviews, compliance or related risks preferred
  • Superior knowledge of risk-based auditing attained through 3 to 5 years of progressive work experience with a focus on asset-based accounts receivable, with experience in consumer loan collateral preferred.
  • Ability to manage projects and supervise auditors to follow sound internal control audit practices and to manage risks appropriately.
  • Be adaptable and able to meet deadlines on assignments, juggle multiple demands and to work with all types of individuals up to and including the CEO.
  • Strong skills in negotiating, relationship building, problem solving, and timely problem escalation
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Detail oriented but able to quickly grasp the big picture.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and completion of a comprehensive risk-based collateral audit program.
  • Develop and use programs and analyses that assist in the audit and monitoring processes.
  • Assist the organization in the monitoring and assessment of various areas of risk, including but not limited to credit, liquidity, compliance, and interest rate.
  • Prepare, review, and present audit results with all levels of management.
  • Serve as lead auditor on specific assignments directing the activity of audit team members and/or third-party providers.
  • Prepare and execute specific audit programs, procedures, and tasks to provide assurance on the adequacy of borrower collateral, reporting, operations, loan agreement compliance, and industry best practices.
  • Work with credit officers, portfolio managers, and relationship managers to develop action plans, as necessary, to respond to deficiencies and/or recommendations noted from internal audit, external auditors, and regulators.
  • Ensure the quality of all audit work complies with established policies and procedures, and professional standards.
  • Through continuous education, maintain and improve knowledge of corporate governance, industry best practices, risk management, internal control, and changes in the regulatory landscape.
  • Ensures that all work is in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, policies and guidelines.
  • Performs any and all other duties assigned.
