Field Applications Specialist
About The Position
We are an international company active in the engineering, sale and realization of complex powder handling and powder/liquid mixing solutions for the pharmaceutical, biopharmaceucal, food and chemical industries, with a specialization in the field of high containment. We build large-scale, customer-specific systems and offer innovative solutions in our field. Each installation is unique, and requires many hours of engineering, from sales to completion. It's a complex process, a technically oriented customer relationship with all the commercial issues at stake in partnership with the commercial team. The Field Application Specialist provides technical support to commercial and project teams to help secure new business and deliver customer-focused solutions within the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical sectors. The role works closely with customers to understand requirements, develop process concepts, support proposals and presentations, and promote products and services through demonstrations and industry events. By building strong customer relationships and leveraging technical expertise, the Process Equipment Specialist contributes to business growth, market expansion, and long-term customer success.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanics, automation, chemistry, pharmaceutical/biotechnology engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 5 years' relevant experience working within the pharmaceutical and/or biopharmaceutical market, specifically with powder handling and high containment processes and applications.
- Experience in hosting a combination of face-to-face and/or remote meetings with new or existing customers.
- Ability to assess customer needs and suggest appropriate products, services and/or solutions.
- Technically minded and having good oral and written communication skills.
- Financially and commercially astute and credible with customers.
- Native in Spanish and C1-C2 (CEFR) in English. Other languages are a plus.
- Enjoy teamwork and liaising between different contacts.
- Experience with Salesforce.com CRM application and Microsoft Office Suite.
Responsibilities
- Work in a group of 4-5 people supporting the commercial team, contracts team, project managers and engineers to contribute and collaborate to winning new business and supporting the sales process from opportunity identification to closure.
- Leverage technical knowledge within the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical sectors to liaise with customers about our products and services.
- Assess customer needs and recommend tailored products and services to deliver tangible, measurable solutions to meet their needs and expand our market presence.
- Support the tender process with bids/proposals/presentations and conduct product demonstrations to showcase our products and services and value selling concepts to customers to drive targeted growth.
- Protect, grow, and diversify the relationship with prospects and customers through delivering a strategy based on medium to long-term business growth plans.
- Develop concepts for meeting the customer needs, including, process descriptions, workflows and drawings.
- Develop new customer contacts through knowledge and expertise.
- Participate in major exhibitions to support the broader commercial team.
