About The Position

The Field Applications Specialist for Leica Biosystems is responsible for delivering technical applications expertise that drives successful product adoption, customer satisfaction, and long-term business growth across the assigned territory. This role partners closely with Sales, Service, and customers to support instrument implementation, workflow optimization, customer training, and ongoing applications support while helping advance Leica Biosystems' commercial and customer success objectives. This position is part of the Field Applications team and will be Field based / fully remote. At Leica Biosystems, our vision is to advance cancer diagnostics and improve lives. You will be a part of the Commercial team and report to the Field Applications Manager for your territory, and be responsible for taking care of the Core Histology customers in the Northeast area.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of experience or a Master's degree in a related field with 0-2 years of relevant experience.
Understanding of the Histology, Anatomic Pathology, Laboratory Automation, or related laboratory marketplace.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot technical applications issues, train customers, and support laboratory workflow optimization.
Travel and Motor Vehicle Record Requirements: This position requires up to 75% flying and/or driving travel, which may potentially include overnight stays. Travel will primarily be domestic but may occasionally be international
Ability to regularly lift, move, slide, raise and/or place up to 50 lbs.
Ability to stand, walk (prolonged), and sit; squat and kneel, ascend and descend stairs; reach with hands and arms.
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in Core Histology laboratory operations, workflows, and instrumentation.
Field Applications, Technical Support, Customer Training, or Laboratory Implementation support.
Experience supporting tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, staining, coverslipping, laboratory automation, or diagnostic instrumentation.

Responsibilities

Partner with Sales and Service teams to support regional revenue growth, customer retention, and successful adoption of Leica Biosystems solutions through technical expertise and consultative customer engagement.
Lead instrument installations, evaluations, validations, workflow optimization activities, and customer onboarding to drive successful implementation and utilization of Leica Biosystems products.
Provide expert applications support, troubleshooting, and training that improves customer competency, laboratory performance, and overall customer experience.
Investigate and resolve technical applications issues in partnership with Technical Service, Product Management, Global Business Units, and other cross-functional teams to deliver timely and effective customer solutions.
Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying customer needs, sharing field insights, documenting issues appropriately, and helping strengthen products, workflows, and service delivery.
