Field Application Engineer – Simulations and Audio AI
About The Position
Treble is hiring a Field Application Engineer for its US team in the San Francisco Bay Area. This is a highly technical, customer-facing pre-sales role working closely with sales, product, R&D, and the Application team to drive successful evaluation and adoption of Treble’s SDK. The engineer will own the technical side of deals, from initial deep-dive conversations through proof-of-concept work and customer onboarding. The role involves working directly with technically sophisticated customers to understand their challenges and demonstrate how Treble’s SDK and simulation capabilities can improve audio AI systems and audio device products. The engineer will also relay customer needs and market signals to product and R&D teams so they can inform platform development. The position is remote from a home office in the San Francisco Bay Area, California, and expects 20–30 travel days per year for customer support, demos, conferences, and trade shows.
Requirements
- Strong technical background in acoustics, simulation, audio signal processing, and AI.
- Hands-on experience with audio ML systems, spatial audio, multi-channel audio processing, and audio hardware development.
- Programming skills in Python.
- CAD skills.
- Ability to combine deep technical problem-solving with a commercial mindset.
- Comfort leading technical discussions with senior engineers, researchers, and decision-makers.
- Clear communication skills and an interest in explaining complex technical concepts and value propositions.
- Self-driven, hands-on approach with strong ownership and follow-through.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-growth scaleup environment.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience in technical pre-sales, solutions engineering, or field engineering.
- Familiarity with synthetic data generation.
- Experience supporting enterprise AI or developer tools.
- Background in audio hardware, voice technology, or AI systems.
- Experience working with long, complex sales cycles.
Responsibilities
- Own the technical evaluation phase of enterprise deals in collaboration with sales.
- Design and deliver technical demos, benchmarks, and proof-of-concept projects using the Treble SDK as a simulation platform.
- Work hands-on with prospects to solve complex problems in audio AI, spatial audio, and acoustic simulation.
- Help customers integrate Treble’s SDK into existing machine-learning, signal-processing, and production workflows.
- Answer advanced technical questions about simulation accuracy, performance, scalability, and data quality.
- Tailor technical discussions and demos for engineering managers and executives.
- Support pricing discussions and articulate value by translating technical capabilities into customer impact.
- Collaborate with product and R&D teams to turn customer feedback and objections into product improvements.
- Create reusable technical assets, including demos, example projects, documentation, and reference workflows, to support sales at scale.
- Support onboarding and training for newly signed customers.
- Represent Treble in technical meetings, workshops, and selected industry events.
- Travel for on-site customer support and demos, conferences, and trade shows (expected 20–30 days per year).
