About The Position

STACK Infrastructure is hiring an AI Application Engineer to build the user-facing components of enterprise AI platforms that automate document-intensive review workflows. The role focuses on turning AI insights—document understanding, rule validation, and exception detection—into business decisions through reviewer applications, executive reporting, data products, and audit-ready outputs.

This hybrid product engineering and analytics engineering role partners with the AI Solution Architect, who owns the agents, and the MLOps Engineer, who owns the data platform. The position reports to the Head of AI & Data Strategy and is based in Denver, Colorado, with travel under 10%. Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States and pass comprehensive background and drug screening.

The engineer will build reviewer-facing applications and workflows, reporting and dashboards, reusable data products, output generators, and integrations. They will work directly with business users, iterate frequently based on observed user needs, and provide documentation, training, and onboarding. The stated compensation range is $128,260.00–$146,017.59.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience building data-intensive applications, internal tools, or data products in production.
• Full-stack capability with modern web frameworks such as React or Vue, Python or TypeScript, and SQL.
• Production experience with at least one BI or reporting tool; Power BI is preferred.
• Strong SQL skills with Databricks SQL Warehouse, dbt, or equivalent lakehouse modeling.
• Demonstrated UX intuition and experience shipping internal tools that real users adopt and improving them based on observed behavior.
• Experience designing reporting for executive stakeholders, balancing detail, accuracy, and clarity.
• Familiarity with the Microsoft 365 and Azure ecosystem, including Power BI, SharePoint Online, Azure App Services, and Entra ID.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
• Must pass comprehensive background and drug screening.

Nice To Haves

• Power BI Data Analyst Associate or Databricks Data Analyst Associate certification.
• Experience with document-heavy user experiences, such as PDF viewers, annotation tools, evidence linking, and comment logs.
• Experience surfacing LLM outputs to end users, including confidence scoring, override flows, and citation interfaces.
• Experience with React, TypeScript, modern frontend tooling, and component libraries.
• Experience with embedded analytics such as Power BI Embedded, Looker Embedded, or equivalent.
• Construction, real estate, data center, or AEC industry context.
• Experience working in a small AI team and taking on multiple roles.

Responsibilities

• Build reviewer-facing applications for triaging incoming documents, accepting or overriding AI recommendations, and annotating decisions.
• Design user experience patterns for reviewer workflows, including comment logs, page-level evidence links, and override flows.
• Capture reviewer feedback so interactions can train models and refine rule packs.
• Ensure applications perform at scale with high document volumes and extensive supporting context.
• Present agent outputs, confidence scores, and citations to reviewers in a trustworthy way.
• Build Power BI dashboards on Databricks SQL Warehouse for review throughput, accuracy, time saved, and operational metrics.
• Develop executive reporting layers and portfolio analytics for business leadership, including cross-domain benchmarks, trend analysis, and anomaly surfacing.
• Build quarterly reporting infrastructure for SteerCo and AI Program Council reviews.
• Create clean, documented Gold-layer data products on Unity Catalog for reuse by business stakeholders, IT Delivery, and the AI team.
• Develop output generators that produce audit-ready Excel and Word documents with linked evidence for reviewed items.
• Create APIs and integration patterns that surface platform outputs to enterprise systems and business workflows.
• Establish analytics engineering standards covering data modeling, version control, lineage, and documentation.
• Work directly with business users to understand their needs and identify what is slowing them down or working well.
• Iterate frequently based on real user feedback.
• Create user documentation, training materials, and onboarding flows for end users and report consumers.
• Partner cross-functionally with the AI Solution Architect, MLOps Engineer, business stakeholders, IT Delivery, and senior leadership.
