About The Position

Siemens Industry Software Inc. is seeking to fill multiple Field Application Engineer positions in Santa Clara, CA. This full-time role involves providing technical leadership in the sales and support of Functional Verification technologies to leading EDA customers in Silicon Valley. The engineer will integrate DVT products and services, assess customer environments, and offer expertise in areas like verification planning, testbench development, failure analysis, simulation optimization, and flow development. The position is accountable for identifying and scoping solutions to meet customer objectives, sharing best practices with technical peers, and acting as a trusted advisor to influence customer decisions. The role also involves articulating customer needs to product engineering, delivering customer training, developing technical white papers, and attending industry events to promote DVT solutions. Up to 25% domestic travel is required, and the role is hybrid, allowing for telecommuting from a commutable distance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Nanotechnology or related field and 36 months of experience in the job offered or in a Field Application Engineer-related occupation.
  • Designing and implementing digital logic using HDLs (Verilog, VHDL), HVLs (SystemVerilog/UVM, OVM, AVM, Vera, Specman, OOP), SystemC, and applying verification methodologies such as directed testing, constrained random testing, UPF, coverage modeling, and assertion-based verification.
  • Creating advanced test benches and performing simulation of complex SoC environments, including generating makefiles and developing automation scripts in Python, Perl, and C/C++.
  • Troubleshooting, triaging, and debugging RTL and verification environments, and performing simulator performance tuning to improve regression efficiency and runtime.
  • Analyzing semiconductor IC technologies, including ASIC and SoC architectures, memory subsystems, interconnect protocols, CPU microarchitectures, and embedded system components.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership in the sales and support of Functional Verification technologies for leading EDA customers.
  • Integrate DVT products and services (at the block/chip/system level) and ensure expected behavior in customer's environments.
  • Perform assessments of customer environments and requirements, providing expertise on verification planning, testbench development using SV/UVM methodologies, failure analysis and resolution, coverage analysis, RTL/Gate- simulations performance optimization and competitive replacement, regression debug and other flow/infrastructure development and testing.
  • Be accountable for uncovering, scoping, and ensuring the technical validity of solutions to achieve customer's design and verification objectives.
  • Keep other technical peers informed of new and emerging technologies, and share best practices and information.
  • Become a trusted advisor to customers regarding their business problems and influence their decision process and business objectives.
  • Articulate customer's technical needs and requirements to product engineering, influencing and shaping product direction.
  • Deliver ongoing customer training classes and consulting related to advanced verification topics.
  • Assist in driving the adoption of advanced verification topics into customer design and verification processes.
  • Participate in developing technical white papers.
  • Attend local and regional technical seminars and technology conferences to educate and promote DVT solutions and network with attendees.
