About The Position

CCMS & Associates is expanding its roster and seeking 1099 residential or commercial field adjusters in Wichita, Kansas. The role involves inspecting residential and commercial property claims, investigating losses, analyzing coverage, recommending reserves, and preparing thorough reports for clients. Adjusters must maintain their own estimating software and equipment, and all candidates must pass a full background check where permitted by law.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of first-party commercial and/or residential property adjusting experience.
• Maintain current estimating software; Xactimate is preferred, and Cotality is a plus.
• Have a working computer with internet access and Microsoft Word.
• Strong time management and customer service skills.
• Experience preparing Statements of Loss, Proofs of Loss, and denial letters.
• Valid driver's license.
• In-depth knowledge of property and liability insurance coverage and industry standards.
• Ability to prepare full-captioned reports by collecting and summarizing required information.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Be prompt, reliable, friendly, and professional.
• Pass a full background check, except where prohibited by state law.

Nice To Haves

• College degree.
• AIC, IICRC, HAAG, or other professional designations.
• Xactimate experience or familiarity; Cotality is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Complete residential and commercial field property inspections using Xactimate software.
• Investigate claims by obtaining recorded statements from insureds, claimants, or witnesses; interviewing fire, police, or other governmental officials; and inspecting claimed damages.
• Recommend claim reserves based on the investigation and provide a well-supported reserve report.
• Obtain and interpret official reports.
• Review applicable coverage forms and endorsements, analyze coverage and coverage issues, and document the analysis in a thorough, captioned initial report to the client.
• Maintain acceptable product quality by complying with established best practices.
