About The Position

CCMS & Associates is expanding its roster and seeking a 1099 Residential or Commercial Field Adjuster in Kansas City, Kansas. The adjuster will inspect residential and commercial property claims, investigate losses, evaluate coverage, recommend reserves, and prepare well-documented reports for clients. Candidates must have at least one year of first-party commercial and/or residential property adjusting experience and must pass a full background check, where permitted by law.

Requirements

• At least one year of first-party commercial and/or residential property adjusting experience.
• Maintain current estimating software; Xactimate is preferred and Cotality is a plus.
• Have a working computer with internet access and Microsoft Word.
• Strong time management and customer service skills.
• Experience preparing Statements of Loss, Proofs of Loss, and denial letters.
• Valid driver's license.
• In-depth knowledge of property and liability insurance coverage and industry standards.
• Ability to prepare full-captioned reports by collecting and summarizing required information.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Be prompt, reliable, friendly, and professional.
• Pass a full background check, where permitted by law.

Nice To Haves

• College degree.
• AIC, IICRC, HAAG, or other professional designations.

Responsibilities

• Complete residential and commercial field property inspections using Xactimate software.
• Investigate claims by obtaining recorded statements from insureds, claimants, or witnesses; interviewing fire, police, or other governmental officials; and inspecting claimed damages.
• Recommend claim reserves based on the investigation and prepare a well-supported reserve report.
• Obtain and interpret official reports.
• Review applicable coverage forms and endorsements, analyze coverage and coverage issues, and document findings in a thorough initial captioned report to the client.
• Maintain acceptable product quality by complying with established best practices.
