The Fiber Splicer installs, terminates, troubleshoots, and repairs fiber optic cabling, including outside-plant high-count cables and single and ribbon fiber. The role reads splice records, floor plans, drawings, specifications, cut sheets, blueprints, and schematics to complete work accurately and support project installation activities. It also includes furcating large strand-count fiber, maintaining job-site organization and safety, and complying with customer security requirements. The position works in indoor business-office and construction environments, typically with moderate noise, and may involve tight or confined spaces. Travel is required as needed; overnight travel is generally expected to be minimal in some regions but may be frequent and extended out of town in others. The employee must be willing to work days, nights, and weekends as project requirements dictate.
