Festival Maintenance Worker - Celebration of Lights
About The Position
The City of O'Fallon is looking for energetic and dependable team members for the position of Festival Maintenance Worker. This part-time opportunity is a hands-on position with general maintenance and electrical experience preferred. This position aides with the maintenance and operation of O'Fallon's Holiday Light Display, Celebration of Lights. Our Festival Maintenance Aides enjoy a flexible schedule along with a fun work environment and earn competitive pay with an expected starting rate of pay of $18.40-$19.00 hourly. As part of our Recreation Division, this position plays an important role in one of the City's largest events of the Tourism and Festivals Department.
Requirements
- Comfortable working with electricity and hand/power tools
- Availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays is required
- Exhibit self-motivation by always looking for ways to improve their knowledge and skills
- Show great respect for others and their property
- Maintain their assigned equipment with care
- Have a valid driver's license
Nice To Haves
- General maintenance and electrical experience is preferred
Responsibilities
- Assisting in the preparation and set up/tear down of festival and event grounds
- Installing, maintaining and/or repairing holiday lights
- Constructing scenery for the holiday light display
- Using basic hand tools
- Assuring light displays are working properly, taking corrective action when necessary
- Providing information and top notice customer service to patrons
