STUDENT-Park Productions - Festival Coordinator
About The Position
Park Productions is hiring two Festival Coordinators to plan and produce the Ithaca Short Film Festival, which takes place during the spring semester. Planning begins in the fall with the call for submissions, scheduling, and promotion. In the spring, the coordinators organize the judging and selection of films and promote the event. The coordinators are not scheduled for regular hours. They are invited, but not required, to attend a weekly 45-minute Managers Meeting to discuss updates. They are expected to meet with each other and the Director periodically to work on tasks. Most of the work takes place during the spring semester leading up to the festival. Applicants must be current Ithaca College students. Applications should include a resume and cover letter.
Requirements
- Must be a current Ithaca College student.
- Strong organization and communication skills.
- Ability to work well as part of a team.
- Strong love for films.
- Interest in film festivals and working with filmmakers.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with event coordination.
Responsibilities
- Recruit and manage a team of student judges to watch and judge film submissions.
- Communicate professionally with Cinemapolis about event logistics.
- Coordinate with the Park Productions Marketing Team to promote the call for submissions and the festival.
- Host the festival by welcoming guests and filmmakers and presenting awards.
- Develop creative ideas to make the festival more engaging each year.
- Meet periodically with the other Festival Coordinator and the Director to work on tasks.
