About The Position

Provides direct care to patients enrolled in the feeding program under the supervision of a licensed psychologist, BCBA or BCBA-D. The Feeding Specialist is primarily responsible for the direct implementation of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) protocols. Assists in the orientation of new staff and performs clinical duties as indicated for specific projects.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment
  • Ability to provide, assess, interpret and communicate client-specific data in response to treatment protocols
  • Must possess strong organizational and time management skills along with ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must possess excellent clinical and customer service skills
  • Experience in the implementation of behavioral assessment/treatment programs with children with medical complexities and developmental disabilities

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field is highly preferred (Psychology, Education, ABA, Behavioral Health, Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology, etc.)
  • Experience in the implementation of behavioral assessment/treatment programs with children with developmental disabilities or medically complex populations
  • Experience with training caregivers or staff
  • Experience with documentation in the electronic medical record
  • Experience in Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct client care utilizing applied behavior analysis protocols under the supervision of a licensed psychologist, BCBA, or BCAB-D.
  • Communicates case-related activities with supervisors using written and verbal communication.
  • Accurately collects behavior data during direct observations using data collection systems.
  • Assists in the monitoring and adjustment of routine behavioral assessments and protocols.
  • Assists with the preparation of treatment foods following strict hygiene and safety standards.
  • Utilizes safe and appropriate handling, management, and guidance procedures when transporting or working with patients.
  • Assists in the orientation of new staff/student training programs.
  • Completes daily chart documentation to include EOD email, graphing and electronic medical record.
  • Assists with training caregivers.
  • Attends team supervision meetings and required trainings.
  • Supports a team of Feeding Technicians in the implementation of correct protocols.
