About The Position

The Feed Mill Tech is responsible for executing tasks and controlling processes involved in producing and shipping swine feed. Work includes receiving and testing ingredients, operating feed production processes, loading outbound trucks, maintaining product quality and completing production records. The technician also follows safety standards and keeps the mill clean and orderly.

• Basic math and computer skills.

• Ability to safely lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to operate power industrial equipment.
• Attention to detail.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Ability to clean and organize work areas.
• Interpersonal skills for working with other employees.
• Availability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Flexibility to cover other shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Receive inbound ingredient trucks, sample and test ingredients, and complete related paperwork.
• Operate grinding, batching, mixing, and pelleting processes to maximize productivity and product quality, including use of a computerized plant control system.
• Load outbound feed trucks and complete related paperwork.
• Manufacture products that conform to product formulas, process standards, and quality specifications.
• Follow safety rules and standards.
• Accurately complete necessary production records.
• Maintain a clean and orderly mill.
