About The Position

The Feed Mill Tech performs basic functions to ensure efficient daily operations of the Feed Mill. The role mixes and loads poultry feed for delivery to multiple farm locations, supports safe food and safe feed practices, receives and maintains ingredient inventories, and performs preventative maintenance and repairs on mill and related equipment. The employee maintains a clean and safe mill environment and provides backup support to the Mill Manager as required. Other duties may be assigned.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Agricultural and feed mill experience are preferred. Training in preventative maintenance programs and mechanical and electrical systems is desirable. Strong communication and teamwork, self-motivation, computer skills in Word and Excel, and mathematical ability are required. Knowledge of production agriculture is desirable.

The role involves standing and walking constantly; frequent gripping, grasping, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 60 pounds; and occasional sitting, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds. The employee must be able to climb a ladder up to 150 feet. The work environment includes frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and airborne particles, seasonal outdoor temperatures, and occasional high places. Noise is usually moderate, though some areas may require ear protection. Personal protective equipment is provided and required in certain conditions and areas.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Good communication skills and a teamwork attitude.
• Self-motivation and a drive for safe, quality feed.
• Computer skills, including Word and Excel.
• Mathematical ability.
• Ability to perform the essential duties satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.
• Ability to stand and walk constantly; frequently grip, grasp, push, pull, reach, bend, stoop, and lift up to 60 pounds; occasionally sit, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds; and climb up to 150 feet by ladder.

• Receive and maintain ingredient inventories.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on the mill and related equipment.
• Maintain a clean and safe mill environment.
• Provide backup support to the Mill Manager as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
