About The Position

The Feed Mill Manager oversees daily operations of Agtegra Cooperative’s Faulkton, South Dakota feed mill. The role is responsible for efficient order processing, product flow, logistics coordination, and overall facility performance, with a strong focus on safety and regulatory compliance. The manager oversees production and workflow, customer orders, ingredient and finished-product handling, inventory, budgets, equipment maintenance, biosecurity, and team performance. The role also ensures compliance with FSMA, OSHA, vehicle and fleet safety, and DOT requirements.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree, or an associate degree and five years of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
At least 18 years old.
English proficiency.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to perform physical duties that may include bending, lifting up to 100 pounds, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions, including heat, cold, dust, and loud noise, using personal protective equipment including a respirator.
Ability to work in elevated areas four feet and above.
Ability to work in confined spaces.
Ability to work extended hours, including weekends, holidays, or different shifts.

Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) knowledge or qualification.
Good Manufacturing Principles (GMP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) knowledge or qualification.
OSHA 10-hour and/or OSHA 30-hour training.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily feed mill operations to ensure efficient, quality production and workflow.
Receive and process customer orders accurately and efficiently.
Schedule and coordinate inbound ingredient deliveries and outbound finished-feed shipments.
Manage ingredient and feed load-in and load-out activities for timely and accurate handling.
Coordinate with trucking dispatch teams on delivery schedules and logistical challenges.
Maintain accurate raw ingredient and finished-product inventory; conduct audits and reconcile discrepancies.
Develop and manage the facility’s annual operating budgets, monitor expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and work toward financial targets.
Analyze operational data to improve efficiency and profitability.
Oversee preventive maintenance and reliability programs for mill equipment and coordinate service with maintenance teams.
Prioritize biosecurity to minimize contamination risk.
Coach and motivate team members through feedback, goal setting, communication, and fair and consistent application of policies and practices.
Manage team performance by setting measurable goals, tracking metrics, and holding employees accountable.
Ensure compliance with FSMA rules and regulations, including documentation, training, and feed safety standards.
Follow safety requirements, policies, and procedures, including OSHA regulations, vehicle and fleet safety policies, and DOT regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
