About The Position

The Feed Mill Manager is responsible for producing and delivering quality feed at a competitive cost. The role supervises feed mill employees and delivery operations, manages ingredients and finished feed, and ensures compliance with company standards, safety requirements, animal welfare and biosecurity practices, and applicable government regulations.

Requirements

• Ability to lift various weights as needed.
• Physical ability to climb ladders at various heights.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise a team of 12 or more employees.
• Receive and test ingredients according to proper methods and standards, rejecting ingredients that do not meet Peco standards.
• Maintain accurate inventories of ingredients and finished feed.
• Manufacture feed properly, keeping feed separate through sequencing, appropriate bin use, and proper load-out procedures.
• Ensure employees and drivers participate in the company safety program.
• Supervise delivery operations to maintain adequate farm inventories and use service technicians for final loads.
• Ensure drivers follow hours-of-service rules and other DOT regulations.
• Maintain company facilities and fleet through preventive maintenance.
• Maintain cleanliness of the grounds, mill, and fleet.
• Oversee animal welfare and biosecurity training and compliance in the feed mill department.
• Ensure chemicals, vaccines, and medications are handled safely.
• Maintain adequate staffing.
• Ensure compliance with applicable government agencies and regulations, including FDA regulations.
