About The Position

REACH Custodial Services is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Custodian to maintain clean, safe, and professional facilities. The role includes routine cleaning, floor and carpet care, restroom sanitation, waste removal, supply and equipment management, and securing assigned areas. The employee follows established procedures and safety policies, maintains professional relationships and confidentiality, attends required meetings and training, and completes assigned tasks consistently. The position is part-time, Monday through Friday, 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, at a contracted site requiring background clearance. The current site rate is $23.84, comprising $18.75 base pay and $5.09 health and welfare pay; rates depend on the specific site contract.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Ability to pass an Alaska State Trooper background check.
Ability to obtain and maintain federal security clearance.

Nice To Haves

Custodial or janitorial experience is preferred; one year of experience is highly desirable.
Preference may be given to qualified individuals who are blind or have significant disabilities, including veterans, consistent with AbilityOne Program guidelines.

Responsibilities

Sweep, dust mop, vacuum, mop, and auto-scrub hard floors as needed.
Buff, scrub, and wax floors.
Vacuum carpeted areas using designated equipment and spot clean carpets using approved methods.
Perform carpet extraction and encapsulation cleaning as needed.
Clean and sanitize restrooms according to established procedures.
Restock restroom supplies, including paper products and soap.
Empty trash and recycling receptacles throughout the facility.
Lock doors and windows to secure assigned areas after cleaning.
Inspect custodial equipment and report maintenance or repair needs to a supervisor.
Use cleaning supplies responsibly and notify supervisors when inventory is low.
Maintain positive and professional relationships with coworkers, customers, and building personnel.
Follow agency, safety, and custodial policies and procedures.
Maintain confidentiality in accordance with agency policies, federal and state laws, and contract requirements.
Attend required meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
Complete assigned tasks with a high level of quality and consistency.
Perform other duties as assigned.
