About The Position

The Fast & Fresh Clerk provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service; operates the cash register accurately and scans products; and helps maintain store cleanliness, product quality and quantity, and supplies in the store and at the pumps. The role works in a fast-paced environment and has daily contact with customers, coworkers, suppliers and vendors, and the general public. Applicants must be at least 18. Employment is contingent on successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to solve practical problems involving varied circumstances with limited standardization and interpret instructions.
Ability to perform arithmetic involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
Ability to file, post, and mail materials; copy data between records; interview to obtain basic information; and guide people or provide basic direction.
Ability to perform medium physical work: exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
Visual ability to see from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet, with or without correction, and depth perception, color vision, and field of vision.
Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, reach, stand, walk, pull, lift, grasp, feel, talk, hear, and perform repetitive motions.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen is required for employment.

Responsibilities

Provide friendly, patient customer service, greet customers, assist them with products and purchases, and respond promptly and helpfully to telephone inquiries.
Work as part of a team to support customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
Operate the cash register and scan products accurately; report improper cash levels; process coupons, food stamps, cash, checks, credit-card transactions, in-store charges, and discounts; count back change and issue receipts.
Bag or box merchandise and give packages to customers.
Assist with department inventory; receive, check in, store, and stock merchandise; fill displays and shelves; and review invoices as needed.
Maintain the lot, including shoveling snow, applying ice melt, hosing it down, filling outside towel holders, and replenishing or refreshing window washer fluid.
Remove trash inside and outside in a timely manner.
Follow sanitation procedures and keep registers, restrooms, break room, backroom, floors, and work areas clean and neat; attend to supply needs.
Follow department and company guidelines for personal hygiene, dress, and work practices; report to work as scheduled and on time.
Order merchandise and supplies as needed and price products for customers when necessary.
Perform other job-related duties and special projects as required.
