About The Position

The Fast & Fresh Clerk provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service; operates the cash register accurately and scans products; and helps maintain store cleanliness, product quality and quantity, and supply needs in the store and at the pumps. The role works with coworkers to support customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment, follows company and store policies, and reports to work as scheduled and on time. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.

Requirements

Ability to solve practical problems involving a variety of variables with limited standardization and interpret instructions.
Ability to perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
Ability to file, post, and mail materials; copy data from one record to another; interview to obtain basic information; and guide people by providing basic direction.
Ability to physically perform medium work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
Visual ability to see from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet, with or without correction, including depth perception, color vision, and field of vision.
Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, reach, stand, walk, pull, lift, grasp, feel, talk, hear, and perform repetitive motions.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

Provide prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service, including greeting customers, learning and using their names when possible, helping them locate or reach products, assisting with heavy items, and relaying customer suggestions or requests.
Answer telephone calls promptly and provide helpful service.
Work cooperatively with coworkers to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
Operate the cash register accurately, scan products where applicable, and report improper cash levels.
Redeem promotional coupons and food stamps; process cash, checks, credit-card transactions, and in-store charges; calculate discounts, count back change, and issue receipts.
Bag or box merchandise and provide packages to customers.
Assist with department inventory; receive and check in deliveries, put merchandise in appropriate storage, stock shelves and displays, and check in products and review invoices as needed.
Maintain the lot, including shoveling snow, spreading ice melt, hosing down the lot, replenishing outside towel holders, and refreshing window washer fluid.
Remove trash from inside and outside areas in a timely manner.
Follow sanitation procedures and keep work areas clean and neat, including registers, restrooms, break room, and backroom; sweep and mop floors and replenish supplies.
Follow department and company guidelines for personal hygiene and dress, and adhere to company policies and individual store guidelines.
Order merchandise and supplies as needed.
Price products for customers as necessary.
Perform other job-related duties and special projects as required.
