About The Position

The Fast & Fresh Assistant Department Manager assists the Fast & Fresh Manager in establishing department standards for customer service, employee relations, cleanliness, sanitation, professional appearance, and profitability. The role helps present quality products at competitive retail prices and supports department operations and employees. It is a fast-paced position with frequent exposure to temperature extremes and dampness, as well as possible equipment movement hazards, electrical shock, and cleaning chemicals and solvents. Employment is contingent upon successfully completing a pre-employment drug screen.

Requirements

High school education or more than one year of related work experience.
Ability to solve practical problems involving a variety of variables with limited standardization and interpret instructions.
Ability to perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
Ability to file, post, and mail materials; copy data between records; interview to obtain basic information; and guide people and provide basic direction.
Ability to perform medium physical work: exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
Visual ability, with or without correction, including vision from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet, depth perception, color vision, and field of vision.
Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, reach, stand, walk, pull, lift, grasp, feel, talk, hear, and perform repetitive motions.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

Provide prompt, efficient, friendly customer service with care, concern, and patience.
Greet customers, learn and use their names when possible, and assist them in finding or reaching products, handling heavy items, and communicating suggestions or requests.
Answer telephone calls promptly and provide helpful service.
Act on issues when the C-Store Manager is absent.
Fill displays and work in the sales area.
Perform departmental duties as needed.
Count cash drawers and maintain cash accountability records.
Adhere to company policies and individual store guidelines, and report to work as scheduled and on time.
Assist the Fast & Fresh Department Manager with additional work and the monthly inventory process.
Attend meetings as required.
Instruct, assign, review, and plan the work of others; maintain standards and coordinate activities.
Perform other job-related duties and special projects as required.
