About The Position

The Fast & Fresh Assistant Department Manager assists the Fast & Fresh Manager in setting department standards for customer service, employee relations, cleanliness, sanitation, professional appearance, and profitability. The role helps present quality products to customers at competitive retail prices. It also supports the department’s daily operations and supervises Fast and Fresh employees.

Requirements

• High school education or more than one year of related work experience.
• Ability to solve practical problems involving a variety of variables with limited standardization and to interpret instructions.
• Ability to perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
• Ability to file, post, and mail materials; copy data between records; interview to obtain basic information; and guide people by providing basic direction.
• Ability to perform medium physical work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
• Visual ability including near and distance vision, depth perception, color vision, and field of vision, with or without correction.
• Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, reach, stand, walk, pull, lift, grasp, feel, talk, hear, and perform repetitive motions.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen is required for employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, efficient, friendly customer service, treating customers with care, patience, and concern.
• Greet customers, learn and use their names when possible, and help them find or reach products, handle heavy items, and communicate suggestions or requests.
• Answer telephone calls promptly and provide helpful service.
• Act on issues when the C-Store Manager is absent.
• Fill displays and work in the sales area; perform departmental duties as needed.
• Count cash drawers and maintain cash accountability records.
• Assist the Fast & Fresh Department Manager with additional work as needed.
• Assist with the monthly inventory process.
• Instruct, assign, review, and plan the work of others; maintain standards and coordinate activities.
• Attend meetings as required and perform other job-related duties and special projects.
• Follow company policies and individual store guidelines, and report to work as scheduled and on time.
• Maintain responsibility for company assets, including equipment and merchandise.
