Farm Worker - 1st Shift - Tecumseh, NE (Peterson Farms)
About The Position
This position is responsible for all aspects of humanly raising and caring for the Smart Chicken® livestock. This includes tasks such as reading water meters, picking up daily mortality, checking for proper equipment operations, ensuring birds have water and feed, and preparing houses for new chick arrival and placement, as well as for bird load-out and reconditioning. The role requires mastering and practicing essential farm animal husbandry. Outdoor duties include mowing, grass trimming, and snow removal. Adherence to all Animal Welfare Standards and biosecurity program regulations is mandatory. Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to work and operate equipment safely and effectively
- Ability to use time wisely while working independently
- Willingness to function as part of a team and work toward team goals
- Good observation skills and attention to detail, eager to learn new ideas
- Willingness to work overtime and be called into work for emergencies as required
- Must be willing to adhere to and support all company policies, programs, guidelines, and standards of conduct.
Nice To Haves
- 6 months of production or farm experience preferred
- Applicant must not have worked for Tyson more than a total of 3 times prior.
- Applicants must also have completed at least 90 days since their last employment with Tyson.
