About The Position

This position is responsible for all aspects of humanly raising and caring for the Smart Chicken® livestock. Responsibilities include reading water meters, picking up daily mortality, checking for proper equipment operations, ensuring birds have water and feed, ensuring all equipment is functional, preparing houses for new chick arrival & placement of new chicks, preparing houses for bird load-out and reconditioning, mastering and practicing essential farm animal husbandry, and performing outdoor duties such as mowing, grass trimming, and snow removal. The role requires adherence to all Animal Welfare Standards and biosecurity program regulations. Other duties may be assigned.

• Ability to work and operate equipment safely and effectively
• Ability to use time wisely while working independently
• Willingness to function as part of a team and work toward team goals
• Good observation skills and attention to detail, eager to learn new ideas
• Willingness to work overtime and be called into work for emergencies as required
• Must be willing to adhere to and support all company policies, programs, guidelines, and standards of conduct.

Nice To Haves

• 6 months of production or farm experience preferred.
