About The Position

ProBerco is recruiting a part-time Family Support Caregiver to provide in-home, recreational, and habilitative services to individuals living with their families or independently in the community. Work hours vary based on the needs of service recipients. The caregiver implements assigned outcomes, follows Prospectus Berco policies and procedures and each recipient’s specific requirements, and demonstrates professionalism and compassion while supporting the organization’s mission.

Services may take place in recipients’ homes and community settings, including community resources such as restaurants and movie theaters. The role supports individuals with disabilities through skill development, recreational activities, transportation, and assistance with physical needs. Work is primarily indoors in homelike conditions, with occasional duties outdoors, in offices, and in a car. The work environment is usually quiet to moderate.

Requirements

• High school education.
• Demonstrated ability to support adults with special needs in a community setting.
• Pennsylvania driver’s license.
• Experience implementing outcomes and experience with documentation.
• Ability to meet the role’s physical demands, including frequently standing, walking, using hands, reaching, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, and talking or hearing; may be required to lift or move more than 50 pounds.
• Required vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.

Responsibilities

• Provide scheduled services in community settings and/or a service recipient’s home.
• Support skill development or maintenance in activities of daily living, education, communication, sensory and motor abilities, adaptive behavior, and social skills.
• Provide recreational activities and transportation to required appointments and activities.
• Deliver services in a supportive, caring, and safe manner while respecting individual needs and differences.
• Promote service recipients’ independence and growth.
• Follow each service recipient’s ISP as written.
• Attend to service recipients’ physical needs, including needs requiring specialized training or procedures.
• Implement assigned outcomes and follow Prospectus Berco policies and procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality and communicate effectively with team members and service recipients.
• Adapt to changes in the work environment, manage time effectively, remain open to other points of view, and ask for assistance when necessary.
