Our comprehensive range of programs and services relies on collaborative relationships with individuals, businesses, community groups and government bodies to create focused, effective and responsive resources for the community. Are you a passionate about empowering families and nurturing children’s development? The Family Resource Program (FRP) is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join our dynamic team. In this rewarding role, you will plan, develop, and implement engaging activities for children and their parents or caregivers attending our drop-in programs. If you have a knack for creating supportive environments and fostering community connections, we want to hear from you! Reporting to the Program Manager, our selected candidate will plan, implement, and supervise daily activities for children and their parents/caregivers, ensuring adherence to agency standards and provincial guidelines. Responsibilities include maintaining clean play areas, preparing nutritious snacks or meals, encouraging participant engagement, and providing information on early childhood development and community resources. The role may involve peer counseling, reporting client concerns, facilitating Parent Child Mother Goose sessions, managing program expenditures, and collaborating with other community services. Additionally, the worker will participate in program evaluations and maintain accurate records as directed by supervisors.

Requirements

  • Early Childhood Education Diploma or equivalent education, training, and experience in a related field.
  • Current Level I First Aid Certificate.
  • Proficiency in both oral and written communication.
