About The Position

Provides leadership and directs the operations of multiple Akin Family Resource Center (FRC) locations within an assigned region. Oversees day-to-day operations across two to three sites and is responsible for coordinating staffing, scheduling, and resource distribution to ensure consistent service delivery and coverage across locations. Directly supervises, assists, and supports FRC teams and related administrative functions across multiple sites. Builds and maintains strong community visibility and partnerships across the region through active participation in appropriate provider organizations and funding bodies. Ensures effective and efficient utilization of personnel, fiscal resources, and facilities, and monitors program performance. Develops and implements a regional strategic plan aligned with the agency plan and ensures priorities are carried out consistently across all assigned sites. Has access to protected healthcare information (PHI) or confidential identifiable information (CII), both paper and electronic, as necessary, to perform related job duties and responsibilities.

  • Demonstrated ability to hire, effectively lead, manage, coach, and discipline employees across multiple locations
  • Knowledge and skills in social service or nonprofit management
  • Strong human relations and communication skills to work effectively with employees, management, and community partners
  • Ability to manage operations across multiple locations, including prioritizing competing needs and ensuring consistent service delivery
  • Strong ability to coordinate staffing and resources across sites to support equitable coverage and program needs
  • Ability to lead through influence and build cohesion across distributed teams
  • Skills in community organizing and community liaison work
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work independently and to organize and prioritize responsibilities in a multi-site environment
  • Understanding of and experience serving diverse socioeconomic and cultural populations

  • Five years of related experience at the managerial level, or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Community-based experience in social service or nonprofit agencies
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience reflecting progressive responsibilities in hiring, firing, training, performance management, conflict resolution, and disciplinary counseling
  • Experience overseeing operations, staff, or service delivery across multiple locations or programs
  • Experience working directly with children, youth, and family programs
  • Experience and training in management, administration, and/or planning
  • Experience and skill in community organizing and community liaison work
  • Experience providing services to diverse socioeconomic and cultural populations
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check
  • Successful completion of a driver’s check if the position requires driving on a regular basis (at least three times per week) or driving clients; must not have more than two driving incidents within the last three years

Responsibilities

  • Promotes service activities and Akin visibility through community activities across the assigned region
  • Promotes Akin advocacy and systems change goals in coalitions, advocacy groups, and professional groups, both through direct participation and by supporting employee participation
  • Works with the Finance and Accounting team to monitor community and site-level budgets across assigned locations
  • Provides on-site leadership, oversight, and operational management across multiple Family Resource Center locations
  • Ensures consistent implementation of Akin policies, procedures, and performance standards across all assigned sites
  • Monitors all funding and other contracts for compliance, concerns, and opportunities and informs appropriate Akin leadership of any pertinent information
  • Coordinates and implements planning and evaluation of programs and assists with research projects
  • Ensures that all records and statistics for assigned sites are accurately maintained and reported
  • Coordinates staffing, scheduling, and coverage across sites to meet service needs, minimize service disruptions, and maximize shared resources
  • Allocates staffing and operational resources across sites based on regional priorities, service demand, and staffing capacity
  • Supports continuity of services during staffing gaps, transitions, or unexpected absences through cross-site coordination
  • Identifies operational gaps or capacity challenges across sites and escalates resource needs to appropriate leadership
  • Fosters collaboration and communication between sites to promote shared learning, best practices, and continuous improvement
  • Conducts regular site visits to monitor performance, compliance, employee engagement, and consistency of service delivery
  • Participates in administrative activities, including leadership team meetings, management meetings, and facility planning
  • May be asked to assist the Director of Community Engagement with community activities related to resource development, including the development of grants, foundations, and public and private contracts
  • Supervises facilities management for assigned sites, including maintenance, lease coordination, and capital improvements, in partnership with the Director of Facilities
  • Develops and implements a regional strategic plan aligned with agency priorities and ensures execution across all assigned sites
  • Provides leadership, direction, and supervision to employees across multiple Family Resource Center locations within the assigned region
  • Coordinates staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet operational needs across locations
  • Maintains regular supervisory meetings with employees to review work assignments, performance, and professional development
  • Supports recruitment, onboarding, training, and retention of employees across multiple sites
  • Maintains a working knowledge of service activities and, in partnership with employees, implements best-practice standards
  • Completes annual performance evaluations and supports performance management, coaching, and corrective action as needed
  • Must possess strong human relations skills to communicate and work effectively within a culturally diverse work environment and community
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
