Locum - Family Medicine - New Minas
About The Position
Mud Creek Medical Co-op is seeking a Family Physician to provide Locum coverage. The clinic is a collaborative, team-based family practice supported by a dietician, family practice nurse, and access to social work services. Physicians care for a diverse patient roster spanning newborn to geriatric populations, providing comprehensive services including routine examinations, medication management, review of labs, imaging and consults, as well as follow-up for chronic disease management and prenatal care. The practice offers both a supportive clinical environment and accessible amenities for patients and providers alike.
Requirements
- Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS).
- Eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC).
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA).
Responsibilities
- Provide Locum coverage for family practices.
- Provide inpatient and nursing home care.
- Provide specialist hospital and office coverage as requested.
- Provide comprehensive services including routine examinations, medication management, review of labs, imaging and consults.
- Provide follow-up for chronic disease management and prenatal care.
Benefits
- Minimum daily income guarantee of $1,200 for family physicians ($600 for half-day).
- Additional earnings if shadow billings exceed the guarantee.
- Reimbursement for travel expenses, including kilometrage, per diems, accommodations (up to $300 per night), and airfare (up to $1,500).
- Reimbursement for travel time up to 10 hours per week.
- Licensing fees for CPSNS are covered.
- Locum physicians may claim facility on call fees under specific conditions.
