About The Position

The Pictou West Collaborative Clinic is seeking a Family Physician to provide Locum coverage for the following dates: September 21st - 25th, 2026 and October 12th - 20th, 2026. The Pictou West Health Centre is home to Nova Scotia Health services and programs including Pictou West Collaborative Practice and satellite offices for the One Door Chronic Disease Management Centre, Senior’s Clinic and Continuing Care. The team consists of administrative support, physicians, NPs, LPNs, Social Worker, Dietitians, and Clinical Pharmacists.

Requirements

• eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
• eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
• membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)

Responsibilities

• delivery of comprehensive primary health care services to patients of all ages and stages of health or illness
• work with other providers in the clinic to provide cross coverage and same day access
• utilize an electronic medical record (EMR) and record all relevant patient details in a provincially approved EMR which is accessible to all collaborating team members

Benefits

• guaranteed daily minimum income of $1,200 for family physicians ($600 or half-day)
• additional shadow billings if above amount is exceeded.

• travel expenses (including air fare up to $1,500)
• travel time up to 10 hours per week
• licensing fees for College of Physicians and Surgeons (CPSNS)
