About The Position

Lancaster Behavioral Health Hospital (LBHH) is a 126-bed, inpatient psychiatric hospital and start-up joint venture between Lancaster General Health/Penn Medicine and Universal Health Services. In addition to a general adult unit and dedicated adolescent unit, the facility offers services for treating those with co-occurring disorders on the psychiatric-medical unit, an intensive adult unit to care for those with severe conditions, as well as a women’s trauma unit. Medical Certified Registered Nurse Practitioners (CRNPs) at Lancaster Behavioral Health Hospital deliver quality nursing care to patients with varying psychiatric, behavioral and mental health diagnoses, ensuring their safety and continued care.

Requirements

  • A valid State of Pennsylvania Medical CRNP License is required.
  • Two years relevant clinical experience in a medical setting.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with behavioral health patients highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a minimum caseload of 12 patients.
  • Obtains comprehensive health history; perform physical examination on new admissions and document/dictate in patient record if applicable.
  • Perform and/or participate in rounds of hospitalized patients, including physical assessments, interpretation of diagnostic studies, interaction with nursing staff and documentation in medical record.
  • Orders (verbal or written) common diagnostic studies, laboratory studies and pharmacologic treatment modalities according to written protocol in collaboration with the physician.
  • Orders (verbal or written) pharmacologics if he/she has obtained prescriptive privileges as documents by a current collaborative practice agreement with a physician member of the LBHH Medical Staff and a current letter of approval pf prescriptive authority form the PA State Board of Nursing. The CRNP can only write for those pharmacologics identified on the collaborative agreement.
  • In collaborating with the attending physician, assists in establishing diagnosis, formulation plan of care, evaluation of patient response, and revising plan of care.
