About The Position

We are partnering with an established rural health clinic and teaching facility in Newman, California to find a skilled and compassionate Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join their primary care team on a full-time basis. This is a meaningful opportunity for a clinician who is passionate about serving an underserved rural community in a collaborative, mission-driven environment. The Family Nurse Practitioner promotes and maintains patient health by providing medical services under the supervision of a physician. The FNP will provide children and adults with general and preventative care, perform check-ups, treat illnesses, request lab testing, and prescribe medications. As a teaching facility, this role also carries an educational component — supporting the development of healthcare team members through information sharing, educational opportunities, and experiential growth.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Nurse Practitioner — required
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in primary care or comparable setting — required
  • Current California NP license in good standing — required
  • Active DEA license without restrictions — required
  • Current BLS/CPR certification — required
  • Ability to work in Newman, CA — required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with EMR/EHR platforms — preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) — highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Promote and maintain patient health by providing medical services under physician supervision
  • Contribute to physician effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range patient care issues, providing recommendations, and implementing physician directives
  • Assess patient health by interviewing patients, performing physical examinations, and obtaining and updating medical histories
  • Determine abnormal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests (X-rays, EKGs, lab studies) and interpreting results
  • Document patient care services accurately by charting in patient and department records
  • Perform therapeutic procedures including administering injections and immunizations, suturing, and managing wounds and infections
  • Instruct and counsel patients on therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional health, and wellness maintenance
  • Provide continuity of care by developing and implementing individualized patient management plans
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment in compliance with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection control policies and protocols
  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through continuing education and professional networking
  • Support development of the healthcare team through information sharing and mentorship
