About The Position

Patriot Urgent Care is a leading urgent care operator in Maryland, seeking a compassionate, courteous, and efficient Advanced Practice Provider for a fast-paced clinical environment. This role involves managing episodic and chronic conditions for patients aged 2 and up, performing various physicals, evaluating workers' compensation injuries, and diagnosing/treating acute illnesses and injuries. The provider will also perform procedures, interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, educate patients, and document encounters accurately.

Requirements

  • Active and unrestricted Maryland Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license, or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Current certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
  • At least two years of clinical experience as an FNP or PA-C.
  • Active DEA registration, or ability to obtain one.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
  • Ability to perform common urgent care procedures, including suturing, splinting, incision and drainage, and wound care.
  • Ability to independently interpret X-rays and other diagnostic test results.
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, and patient-service skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, primary care, family medicine, or internal medicine.
  • Experience practicing in a fast-paced or high-volume clinical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage episodic and chronic conditions with walk-ins and same-day appointments as the sole advanced practice provider for ages 2 and up.
  • Perform physicals such as sports, DOT, pre-employment, and annual.
  • Evaluate patients for workers’ compensation injuries.
  • Evaluating, diagnosing, and treating acute illnesses and injuries.
  • Performing procedures such as suturing, splinting, incision and drainage, and wound care.
  • Ordering and independently interpreting diagnostic tests, including X-rays, laboratory work, and 12-lead EKGs.
  • Prescribing medications and therapies in accordance with Maryland regulations and clinic protocols.
  • Educating patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care.
  • Accurately and efficiently documenting patient encounters.
  • Collaborating with clinical and operational team members to provide a convenient, caring, and high-quality patient experience.
