About The Position

UMass Memorial Medical Group seeks a dedicated and compassionate Family Medicine Hospitalist to join our growing team. Key Highlights Provide direct medical care to hospitalized patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic conditions. Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, specialists, and support staff, to ensure coordinated care and optimal patient outcomes. Manage patient care from admission through discharge, including conducting rounds, ordering and interpreting tests, and developing treatment plans. Maintain clear and effective communication with patients, families, and other healthcare providers. Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care in the electronic medical record (EMR) system-EPIC Provide consultative services to other physicians and healthcare professionals as needed. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of hospital policies and protocols. Mentor and educate medical students, residents, and other healthcare professionals.

Requirements

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
  • Must hold or be eligible for an active medical license and DEA in Massachusetts.
  • Strong clinical skills, proficiency in inpatient care, and familiarity with hospital-based electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple patients effectively.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a hospitalist or in a similar role is preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities
