About The Position

As our Family Medicine Faculty Physician at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Group in Lufkin, Texas, you will be a foundational member of our brand-new Family Medicine Residency Program. This unique, dual role allows you to educate the next generation of physicians, build innovative curriculum, and provide exceptional patient care, all while being affiliated with the prestigious Baylor College of Medicine. In this influential dual role, you will maintain an active clinical practice of 18-22 patients daily, serving as a role model while providing direct supervision and formal instruction to Family Medicine residents in both inpatient and outpatient settings. You will be instrumental in developing curriculum, fostering resident professional growth, engaging in scholarly activity, and actively contributing to ACGME accreditation, all within a flexible 4.5-day work week that expertly integrates academic and clinical responsibilities. To be successful in this role, you will be a Board-Certified Family Medicine Physician with an active Texas license, driven by a profound passion for teaching and mentorship. Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Board certification in Family Medicine.
  • Active or eligible license in the state of Texas.
  • Strong clinical skills with experience in comprehensive primary care, including care for newborns to adults.
  • Demonstrated experience or strong interest in medical education, teaching, and mentorship.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with residents, patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented academic and clinical environment, contributing to program development and ACGME accreditation.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care and fostering a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities
