The Family Law Managing Attorney manages IRCO’s Family Legal Services program within its broader Legal Services team, which also includes Immigration Law and Disability Law. The role provides direct legal services to vulnerable community members, particularly survivors of domestic or dating violence, sexual assault, and/or stalking, in family law matters arising from or related to abuse. Matters may include protection orders, divorce, child custody and visitation, paternity, child support, and spousal support. Representation may be limited in duration or full-scope, and includes court appearances and drafting legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements. The attorney works with the Legal Services Sector Manager to establish program procedures and promote effective, efficient service delivery and quality client outcomes. The role collaborates with IRCO teams and local nonprofit providers on outreach and development of a trauma-informed program responsive to immigrant and refugee survivors of violent crimes. It also represents the program in discussions with other IRCO sectors, funders, and partner agencies; supports funding proposals and long-term sustainability planning; and recruits, hires, and supervises a team as the program grows. The position is based at the Pacific Islander and Asian Family Center in Portland, Oregon, with a hybrid schedule. The posting describes the role as on-call/casual without benefits, while also listing a benefits package offered to staff. The work schedule is described as mostly stable and does not fluctuate without prior notice.
