About The Position

Talis Group’s established, mid-sized Louisville law firm client is seeking a Family Law Attorney to join its collaborative and supportive team. The firm is known for a strong, family-oriented culture and low employee turnover, and encourages long-term professional growth. Its practice includes business litigation, real estate, transactional law, and family law. The role focuses primarily on mediation and resolving family law matters, with litigation as needed. The attorney will help clients navigate challenging family situations, pursue practical solutions, and build a rewarding practice alongside experienced colleagues. The employer pays 100% of employee health insurance premiums and contributes toward dental, vision, and life insurance. Benefits also include a 401(k) with employer match and quarterly bonuses tied to billable hours. The annual billable-hour range is 1,300–1,500.

Requirements

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Active license to practice law in Kentucky.
Experience handling family law matters, including mediation and litigation.
Strong negotiation, communication, and legal writing skills.
Ability to manage cases independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues.
Client-focused approach, sound judgment, and a genuine interest in helping families navigate difficult transitions.

Responsibilities

Represent clients in family law matters, including divorce, custody, parenting time, and related disputes.
Facilitate mediations and work toward practical, mutually acceptable resolutions.
Handle family law litigation when negotiation or mediation does not resolve a matter.
Develop case strategies, advise clients on legal options, and guide them through complex and sensitive issues.
Draft and review pleadings, settlement agreements, and other legal documents.
Maintain strong client relationships through responsive communication, sound judgment, and compassionate counsel.
