Family Intervention Specialist

Youth Villages•Boston, MA

About The Position

Youth Villages is hiring a Family Intervention Specialist for Intercept®, an evidence-based intensive in-home program designed to help keep families together by preventing out-of-home placements or supporting reunification. The program serves youth from birth through age 18 who face serious emotional or behavioral challenges or have experienced trauma, including abuse or neglect. Services are delivered in families’ homes and communities, not in an office, and provide strength-based support tailored to each family’s needs through evidence-based mental health interventions and development of parenting and communication skills. The specialist carries a caseload of 4 to 6 families and meets with each family three times per week, scheduling sessions around family availability. The role includes assessing youth needs, collaborating with other service providers, case workers, and courts, providing on-call crisis support, and maintaining timely documentation in an electronic medical record system. The schedule is flexible and non-traditional. The specialist must travel to families’ homes and communities, driving up to 60 to 80 miles, with additional travel potentially required. Applicable mileage is reimbursed.
