About The Position

The Family Engagement Coordinator is responsible for using sound professional judgment and best practices to ensure quality services are provided to the service population while maintaining compliance with established program standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years related direct experience (with a high school diploma).
  • Maintain certificates required for the position including but not limited to First Aid and CPR.
  • Valid Texas Driver’s license with a clear driving record and reliable transportation.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens.
  • Provide proof or work eligibility status upon request.
  • Pass a pre-employment and biennial criminal background and motor vehicle check (fingerprints needed if applicant has lived out of state within the past 5 years).
  • Communicate effectively in writing and verbally in English.
  • Maintain computer literacy required to meet the responsibilities of the position.
  • Work effectively and without intensive supervision both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Travel as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree may substitute for experience.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) and ensure members are actively engaged in program decision-making.
  • Solicit and share family feedback with the PAC for analysis, strategy development, and service coordination.
  • Develop, review, and revise a quarterly outreach plan with the support of the PAC.
  • Conduct family surveys to assess needs and review results with the PAC.
  • Partner with the PAC to host parent-led events, initiatives, parent cafes, and other workshops.
  • Provide targeted outreach and recruitment of participants for FRC activities to identify underserved populations.
  • Provide/facilitate training for families on self-advocacy and leadership.
  • Establish and maintain a trusting and professional working relationship with families by providing regular contact.
  • Record all group and individualized services and activities in a complete, concise, and timely manner utilizing program forms into PEIRS (DFPS) Salesforce (BCFS) databases.
