About The Position

The Family Engagement Coordinator position supports the PREPARES Pregnancy and Parenting program by facilitating weekly group offerings for families in Spanish and English and providing targeted family engagement support. Key functions of this position include the adaptation of existing lesson plans, data collection, and coordinated resource navigation to support group offerings that are engaging, culturally responsive, and supportive for families. The Family Engagement Coordinator provides families with information, resources, connections, and support to promote optimal development outcomes.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, required
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in early childhood education required or providing services, or education to families is required
  • Proficiency in writing, reading, and speaking Spanish and English required
  • Strong interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication
  • Commitment to working with marginalized populations and supporting diversity, inclusion, and cultural relevancy
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to work independently, as a team member, and a collaborative partner
  • Ability to represent the agency in a professional manner
  • Knowledge of Central Washington region and resources
  • Ability to present information formally and informally in large and small groups
  • Valid Washington State driver’s license and minimum required liability insurance for WA State
  • Must be deemed insurable as determined by Catholic Charities’ liability insurance provider
  • Being cleared by criminal background check and fingerprinting when required

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate two weekly 90 minute groups
  • Disseminate streamlined lesson plans using established curriculum.
  • Provide families with information, resources, and referrals during group sessions.
  • Collect required data related to participating families per program guidelines.
  • Complete brief post group summaries documenting engagement and key outcomes.
  • Prepare a concise monthly summary highlighting collective group outcomes and trends.
  • Conduct and disseminate parent surveys per project guidelines.
  • Build and maintain relationships with participating caregivers and families.
  • Coordinate basic resource navigation support
  • Coordinate with PREPARES volunteers to support families in accessing essential needs ensuring timely and responsive follow up aligned with program guidelines.
  • Establish and nurture collaborative relationships with caregivers, young parents, community partners and colleagues
  • Provide resources to parents/caregivers and their children that increase stability and readiness for learning.
  • Utilize and support the continuity of care, sustainability and quality of general operations
  • Support the continuity of play groups by consistent communication and shared arts, craft, and theme ideas with other facilitators in the program.
  • Support the recruitment of vulnerable young pregnant and parenting families.
  • Participate in special projects as requested by program manager or regional director
  • Coordinate activities with internal team and external partners as needed to promote quality of care for children, families, and caregivers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
