About The Position

This is an opportunity to serve the residents of Pierce County and provide services to those in need when the need is greatest. You will be the supporting staff helping to keep the lights and heat going for families in need. Pierce County Human Services exists to ensure that every person in our community has the opportunity to live with dignity, stability, and hope. Your work will directly impact your local community, and it offers a great foundation for future positions within the Human Services Department and Pierce County.

Requirements

  • Graduation from a four-year college or university with major course work in social services, human services, psychology, counseling
  • One or more years of related experience preferred.
  • Positions in specific program areas may require program-related experience, education and/or training.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and ensures client requests for assistance involving a shut off notice are completed on a daily basis.
  • Monitor energy assistance appointments on a weekly basis to ensure funding is not under or overspent.
  • Reconciles funding for energy programs, reviewing people served, files processed and funding available.
  • Develop and maintain specialized reports to track funding available and/or fee for service status.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate documentation and statistics necessary for program reports and audits required by funding sources.
