About The Position

This role offers the opportunity to become a paid, non-medical caregiver for an elderly or disabled family member or friend. JEVS Care at Home can assist with applying for state waivers to cover services if the client is not currently on a waiver. Eligible individuals, including parents, guardians, family members, or friends, can work as paid caregivers. If a caregiver is not already identified, the organization can help find a suitable individual to care for the loved one. Both the client and the caregiver must be 18 years of age or older. The cost of required clearances and Tuberculosis testing will be covered. The service area includes Allegheny, Butler, Washington, Beaver, and Westmoreland counties, as well as any county within a 2-3 hour radius of Allegheny. Accepted waivers include Community Health Choices, ACT 150, and VA Aid & Attendance. Assistance is provided to start the waiver application process if needed.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to effectively communicate with assigned Client Care Manager.
• Must complete JEVS Care at Home written exam and orientation program successfully.
• Must pass background check/clearances as required by state regulations.
