Fall Afterschool Tutors

Emerald Youth FoundationKnoxville, TN
Onsite

About The Position

Emerald Youth Foundation has been supporting Knoxville's youth and preparing community leaders since 1991. They serve over 3,000 children, teens, and young adults annually through faith, learning, and health programs. Tutors are needed to help students in afterschool programs address academic gaps, particularly in reading and math, as identified by the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) Assessment. Individualized instruction provided by tutors has shown to help students achieve greater academic growth and close learning gaps, leading to increased success and empowerment. Tutors will be placed at one of Emerald Youth's JustLead program sites, which are hosted in a network of churches and faith-based organizations. These sites offer structured activities including academics, health, service-learning, and discipleship to foster holistic development in urban youth.
