About The Position

The Fair Housing Director manages and leads the efforts of the Virginia Fair Housing Office (VFHO) and ensures that its mission and philosophies are carried out. The VFHO works to increase awareness of and compliance with fair housing law through effective and efficient investigations, conciliation of complaints, training, partnerships with public and private organizations, and complaints against non-complying persons and entities.

Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of Federal and Virginia Fair Housing laws.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret complex rules, regulations, and laws.
• Excellent managerial and leadership skills.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
• Expert knowledge of law enforcement principles and investigative techniques.
• Knowledge of regulatory processes.
• Proven ability to accurately read, interpret, and analyze data.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct timely, efficient, and accurate legal research.
• Experience and demonstrated ability to prepare legal memoranda.
• Proven ability to deal effectively with the public.

• Demonstrated computer and software skills, including use of Microsoft Office.
