About The Position

Covenant College, located on a scenic 400-acre campus atop Lookout Mountain, Georgia, is seeking a full-time, tenure-track faculty member for its Christian Ministry program within the Department of Biblical and Theological Studies. This position, beginning July 1, 2027, is within an academically rigorous Christian college emphasizing liberal arts in the Reformed and Presbyterian tradition, and is an agency of the Presbyterian Church in America. The role involves teaching core curriculum courses, Christian Ministry electives, assisting with a new Local Flourishing Project, advising students, meeting with prospective students, and participating in campus life and faculty governance. Rank and compensation will be commensurate with experience.

Requirements

• Subscription to the system of doctrine in the Westminster Confession of Faith and Catechisms.
• A PhD or ThD in Pastoral Theology, Christian Ministry, or related field. Exceptional candidates may be considered before completion of a PhD.
• Demonstrated experience and expertise in Christian ministry, pastoral theology, missions, and/or church planting.
• An M.Div. (preferred) or MA in Theology.
• Commitment to the mission of Covenant College.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to teach 2-3 courses in the Christian Doctrine sequence is especially desired.
• An M.Div. is preferred.
• Prior teaching experience - with demonstrated excellence - at the college or seminary level is desired.

Responsibilities

• Teach 2-3 courses in the Covenant College core curriculum (Old Testament, New Testament, or Christian Doctrine). Ability to teach the Christian Doctrine sequence is especially desired.
• Teach 1-2 electives and/or foundational and practicum courses in Christian Ministry, including Introduction to Christian Ministry, Teaching & Discipleship, and Mentored Ministry.
• Aid in the administration of a new Local Flourishing Project.
• Advise and mentor students.
• Meet with prospective students.
• Participate in the life of the campus community and faculty governance.
