The Department of Medical Education (DME) at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, which is the oldest continuously operating department of medical education globally and has a strong commitment to scholarship and leadership in the field, is seeking applications and nominations for an open-rank tenure-track faculty position. This position focuses on areas such as data science, quantitative methodology, psychometrics, artificial intelligence, program evaluation, or other relevant fields within health professions education. The role involves responsibilities in research, teaching, and service within medical or health professions education (HPE). For candidates applying at the Associate Professor or Professor level, there will be opportunities to take on leadership roles in departmental programs. Faculty members are expected to contribute directly to the College of Medicine's educational mission, maintain active and visible research programs that advance the field of HPE, and teach and advise graduate students in the MHPE program and the Doctoral program in HPE. Additionally, they will teach in the department's certificate programs and faculty development activities. The ideal candidate will be pursuing an academic career in Health Professions Education, possess broad interests and skills in the field, have depth in a specific area of study or methodology relevant to HPE, demonstrate strong scholarship, and have a proven track record of funding appropriate to their experience. Candidates are asked to specify their areas of expertise in HPE and describe their teaching experience. The position also includes performing other related duties and participating in special projects as assigned.
