About The Position

Kent State University at East Liverpool Campus is seeking candidates for a non-tenure track position to teach undergraduate physical therapist assistant courses in a CAPTE accredited associate degree in the physical therapist assistant program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Hold a valid and current license as a PT or PTA in Ohio.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience as a PT or PTA.
  • Have a minimum of two (2) years' experience teaching either as an appointed faculty member in a CAPTE accredited physical therapy program or as a clinical instructor/preceptor for students of such programs.
  • Must pass a security check.

Responsibilities

  • Directing and coordinating clinical education experiences in the program in accordance with CAPTE standards including but not limited to: visit and evaluate clinical sites; train clinical instructors; recruit new clinical sites; discuss student progress with clinical instructors; assess clinical competencies; assign students in program to clinicals for fieldwork education experience; prepare and maintain student information pertaining to clinicals.
  • Represent unit at programs and functions.
  • Monitor and stay current on applicable laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain and update student files, records and data in accordance with federal, state and university regulations.
  • Serve on various university committees.
  • Teach selected program courses.
  • Coordinate activities in psychomotor skills and computer laboratories.
  • Orient and supervise student lab tutors.
  • Monitor and maintain lab equipment.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of intervention, referral, and retention programs for students.
  • Support the Ashtabula campus program as well.
