About The Position

Post University is seeking a Faculty Manager for its First-Year Experience program. This is a full-time, hybrid position based in Waterbury, CT. The Faculty Manager will provide direct supervision, coaching, and performance management for Associate Faculty, ensuring high instructional quality, faculty engagement, and an exceptional student experience. The role involves regularly reviewing faculty performance, course activity, and student engagement, addressing any performance concerns, and collaborating with Course Chairs. To maintain a connection to the student and faculty experience, the Faculty Manager will also teach four First-Year Experience courses annually. Post University is dedicated to student success and fostering a collaborative, student-focused community, with a history spanning over 130 years.

Requirements

Master's degree from an accredited institution.
Minimum of three years of higher education teaching experience.
Experience supervising, coaching, mentoring, or supporting faculty or instructional staff.
Demonstrated ability to leverage data, analytics, and performance metrics to inform decisions and drive improvement.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and consistency.
Candidates must be physically located and perform their work from an approved state (not Alaska, California, Hawaii, or New York).

Nice To Haves

Experience developing online courses at the college level.
Familiarity with Blackboard or similar learning management systems.
Understanding of or experience using AI tools in content creation.
Online teaching experience in higher education.

Responsibilities

Supervise and support assigned Associate Faculty, serving as the primary point of contact for their questions and concerns.
Monitor faculty performance, provide timely feedback and coaching, and address performance concerns, documenting coaching or improvement plans as needed.
Partner with Course Chairs on faculty evaluations, performance concerns, retention, and staffing decisions.
Recognize and share strong teaching practices among faculty.
Review approximately 50 active course sections weekly for instructional quality, faculty engagement, grading, student outreach, and adherence to expectations.
Hold Associate Faculty accountable for meeting established expectations and delivering a consistent, high-quality student experience.
Review student success and faculty performance data to identify strengths, concerns, and trends.
Conduct course reviews and classroom observations as needed.
Analyze course-level metrics including participation rates, assignment completion, persistence indicators, outreach activity, and student outcomes.
Provide actionable feedback and recommendations to improve instructional practices and student success results.
Escalate significant instructional concerns to the Course Chair or appropriate academic leader.
Support the onboarding and development of new Associate Faculty.
Provide individualized coaching based on course observations, performance data, and student outcomes.
Identify faculty development needs and coordinate appropriate learning opportunities.
Promote evidence-based teaching practices, instructional technologies, and student engagement strategies.
Collaborate with the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) on faculty development initiatives.
Collaborate with Course Chairs, Advising, Academic Leaders, and Student Support Teams to improve retention, persistence, and student achievement.
Share data-informed recommendations related to faculty effectiveness and instructional quality.
Participate in strategic initiatives focused on first-year student success and educational effectiveness.
Teach four courses annually within the First-Year Experience program.
Serve as a model of excellent instruction by consistently demonstrating faculty expectations, effective teaching practices, strong student engagement, and instructional excellence.
Use direct teaching experience to inform faculty support, professional development, and continuous program improvement.
Demonstrate through direct teaching the level of care, engagement, responsiveness, and instructional quality expected to provide First-Year Experience students with an extraordinary experience at Post.
