Faculty (Clinical)- Rank to be Determined - College of Nursing
About The Position
Wayne State University’s College of Nursing is hiring a full-time clinical faculty member at a rank to be determined. The role is based at the university’s Detroit campus and focuses primarily on teaching courses related to the faculty member’s clinical specialization. The faculty member will apply teaching strategies suited to students’ learning needs and evaluate course outcomes. The position also includes clinical, teaching, or research scholarship; publication and conference presentation; collaboration with faculty and students on scholarly projects; and service on faculty committees and task forces. Other related duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- Doctorate degree.
- Current advanced practice certification.
- Previous teaching experience at the undergraduate level or higher in Nursing, using both didactic and clinical methods.
- Recent clinical practice.
- Ability to perform the work required, with a previously established pattern of acceptable attendance and performance.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in care of the perinatal family or psychiatric/mental health nursing.
- Ability to teach other Nursing courses, such as Medical-Surgical Nursing, Community Health, Population Health, or Pediatric Nursing, especially when specialty-area courses are not offered in a given semester.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, teach, and evaluate courses, primarily in the faculty member’s area of clinical specialization.
- Apply teaching strategies appropriate to students’ learning needs.
- Engage in scholarly activities, including publishing clinical, pedagogical, or research-based work in journals or books and presenting at conferences.
- Conduct and participate in clinical scholarship, teaching scholarship, or research projects in collaboration with faculty and students.
- Serve on faculty committees and task forces.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
