About The Position

This entry-level yard maintenance position is responsible for maintaining the grounds, detailing machinery and other equipment, and assisting with maintenance and janitorial duties. The role is full-time, with an expected 40-hour workweek, Monday through Friday. Saturday work may be needed, and overtime may be required as needed.

The position involves physical activity throughout working hours, including walking, sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and moving. Employees must be able to lift or carry up to 50 pounds and frequently stand, sit, kneel or squat, bend or stoop, push or pull, and twist. Regular activities include walking, climbing, grasping, and reaching.

Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a degree of independence.
• General knowledge of and ability to operate lawn and garden equipment.
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Must provide proof of previous forklift training or receive training from United Ag & Turf before operating a forklift.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks carrying new equipment and palletized items, including store and dealer transfers.
• Inspect new incoming equipment while unloading and confirm serial numbers, manuals, and keys.
• Assist customers with loading and unloading equipment for service.
• Dump scrap metal and trash cans.
• Load the scrap pallet dumpster.
• Keep tires aired up on used equipment and equipment on the line and sales lot.
• Maintain oil dump stations.
• Put away forklifts and shop-owned Gators nightly.
• Perform occasional maintenance on company-owned equipment, including forklifts, Gators, and company trucks.
• Assist technicians by moving non-functioning equipment from the service line to a bay.
• Maintain the yard, including spraying weeds, mowing, weed trimming, and picking up trash.
• Wash and detail equipment at the wash bay as needed.
• Perform janitorial duties as needed.
